Homemade hanger for the hallway. Wall hanger for the hallway. Wooden hanger

IN cozy home It is impossible to do without a hanger - floor, wall or ordinary hangers in the closet. But in addition to its utilitarian function, storing clothes in a straightened form is also a way to show your creativity, the opportunity to do something with your own hands for household use. An original do-it-yourself floor clothes hanger or original nailed hooks in the hallway - how can you do without them? To make the simplest tremmels for jackets or horns for hats, you don’t need to be a jack of all trades, all you need is a tool and a few creative ideas.

Hanger as an art object or decorative element

To quickly clean up your home by arranging things in your closet, it is important to have enough space to easily accommodate:

  • dresses and jackets;
  • hats and caps;
  • bags and belts;
  • scarves and neckerchiefs;
  • blouses and sweaters;
  • business suits;
  • outerwear for the off-season;
  • skirts and trousers.

But for each such thing you need a special device:

  • wall hanger;
  • hangers (trempels);
  • panel or shelf with hooks;
  • clothes hanger in the hallway;
  • rings and hooks for the closet for scarves and accessories.

It’s easy to build many types of clothes hangers - with your own hands, photo:

If you look through old things from grandma's closet or chest, there are probably some pretty interesting clothes hangers in there. Vintage trempels and homemade hangers, if they do not qualify as “antiques,” may well be the basis for renovation or even become a unique art object. No matter how hard they try to transform an old hanger, masters of folk crafts, needlewomen and just those who like to “get creative” with something! For example, a clothes hanger photo.

Grandmother's hangers were made in an era when plastic or plastic products were not produced. An old wooden base can be used as an original decorative object, especially if there is no closet in the room. They can be transformed in any way or use any suitable technique:

  • decoupage;
  • original painting;
  • application for varnishing;
  • pasting posters, magazines, geographical maps etc.

Wouldn't hurt old basis make soft “shoulders” for the knitwear so that it does not slip or stretch. These simple devices It’s also easy to make “from scratch” from scrap materials. But if you need a wall-mounted base for wooden hooks or an original floor-mounted clothes hanger-rack, then you need materials, tools and woodworking skills.

Wall mounted wooden hanger

Although a wall hanger is the simplest device that is suitable for self-production, you should not make it crude and primitive. Even if you plan to use it temporarily, for example, in the country, it is still better to make it beautiful so that the wall-mounted clothes hanger decorates the house for many years.

For quality product will be needed good wood, board or scrap of a block, the required length - the width of 2-3 freely hanging trempels with jackets. The board for the base must be strong and dry, without cracks, and treated with antiseptics. On this basis you will need to stuff several hooks:

  • in line;
  • in 2 rows;
  • in 3 rows - in a checkerboard pattern.

The simplest single-row hanger is useful in any room:

  • on back side doors in the bedroom - for dressing gowns;
  • in the bathroom or toilet - for linen while swimming;
  • in the pantry - for work or seasonal outerwear;
  • in the pool or sauna - under towels and bathrobes.

A simple wall hanger is also needed in a child's or teenager's room - to teach schoolchildren to be tidy, hang it on hangers casual clothes so that she does not wrinkle.

Tip: The simplest hanger is a board with hooks and loops for mounting on the wall. But do not forget that it cannot be nailed to an unplastered wall or whitewash. An unprepared surface will cause clothes to get dirty. Therefore, a wooden board, plastic film or whatman paper must be hung on the wall in an unfinished room under a hanger. And wet outerwear will stain the wallpaper or painted wall on the prepared wall.

If you have any original idea Regarding the design of the product, it is not necessary to make it in the form of an oblong rectangular disk. A do-it-yourself wooden base for a wall-mounted clothes hanger can be made in the form of:

  • oval;
  • wave-shaped panel;
  • stave;
  • heart;
  • spirals, etc.

After making the base, the wood must be sanded and varnished or processed in another way. It is important that the wood does not give rise to splinters when using a homemade hanger. It is advisable to make the hooks or “nails” of the hanger in any way in an original way, will fit:

  • old wooden thread spools;
  • handles of broken screwdrivers, scissors and other household items;
  • specially planed hooks.

Hooks, “nails” or “holders” for a hanger do not have to be made of wood or metal; they can also be bought at a hardware or construction supermarket. Natural material is also suitable - dry branches, twigs, cuttings or root cuttings. They must be cleared of bark, cut or sawed off excess, sanded and varnished.

Another standard hanger option is made from wooden slats nailed in parallel. They will become not only the basis for hooks, but also a decorative shield for clothes on a whitewashed wall or simply a beautiful piece of furniture. It will take a little more time to make, but this design looks more solid than just a board for hooks. And if you attach a visor to the hats, it will already be a full-fledged clothes hanger in the hallway with your own hands.

Homemade clothes hanger for the hallway

The hallway hanger should be enough:

  • durable and strong;
  • aesthetic;
  • roomy;
  • multifunctional.

Ideally - for a short period of the wall in narrow hallway should fit:

  • outerwear for all family members or guests;
  • hats;
  • umbrellas and bags;
  • shoes under clothes.

It is this versatility that is important to consider when building a homemade hanger for the hallway. Therefore, it is wise not just to make a board with hooks, but to decorate it beautifully:

  • shield with hooks for clothes;
  • visor for caps and hats;
  • shelf for shoes;
  • stand for bags and umbrellas.

Tip: The dimensions of such a hanger should not be arbitrary; they are measured against the part of the wall where the hanger should be located.

Usually a space of about 1 m in width is enough; the height of a clothes hanger in the hallway with your own hands should be greater than head level. There are 2-3 rows of hooks under trempels and outerwear, plus a visor (shelf) for hats. Reliability of connection The shelves of the side panel can be connected with strips at an angle of 45°C. The hanger must be attached to the wall with brackets or dowels.

Floor hanger rack

Another type of device for placing clothes at the entrance to a building is a do-it-yourself floor clothes hanger. You can often see them:

  • in the clinic office;
  • in the reception area;
  • in the hall or vestibule;
  • in an Internet cafe, etc.

They are usually called "standing" or "horn" hangers and are made of tubular metal. They are notable for the fact that they are convenient for hanging not only outerwear, but also hats, bags and umbrellas. And although they are not as stable as hangers nailed to the wall, they are more compact and mobile. They can be rearranged to any place or stored in the pantry for the summer.

In houses and apartments, this type of hanger is used less often than in public places, but it is also easy to make yourself. There are a few good ideas for example use:

  • cross for Christmas trees as a base and a long handle of a shovel as a stand, where ready-made long hooks are nailed;
  • trimmings plastic pipes and couplings for the base of the hanger;
  • process the base of a dried garden tree in the form of a multi-armed structure and install it on a cross or other base;
  • cutting pipes of different sections as a telescopic stand;
  • the remains of old chairs and stools and build a hanger on a rotating rotary mechanism(buy ready-made);
  • as a basis - a tripod from an old camera, a floor lamp and other household items.

Attention: Whatever the design, it is important to observe the main condition - the stability of the floor hanger. And this depends not only on its design, but also on its support. It can be a rotating disk, 3-6 legs or a cross.

DIY coat hanger or trempel

It’s not difficult to make a clothes hanger yourself, using any available material as a base:

  • thick wire;
  • a fragment of a thick branch in the shape of a hanger;
  • small plastic bottles, strung on a metal base in the form of a large “clip”;
  • bent metal plate or corner.

The base for the “hanger” hanger remains to be wrapped in padding polyester (another filling) and covered with any beautiful fabric. This best option for knitwear. A beautiful satin bow or a face from a small soft toy will help add originality. Children will love these hangers. The main thing is to find the right metal for the coat hanger hook.

Original do-it-yourself hangers from scrap materials

Interesting ideas for making hangers of any type yourself can be implemented using a variety of available materials.

1. Metal. Trimmings steel wire, tubes or corners are suitable for a metal clothes hanger. Depending on the flexibility and thickness of the metal, the structure can be bent or joined by welding. The shape and design of the product is your choice, see photo:

2. Remains of timber, boards, veneer and other wood are suitable for a wall hanger or a universal product in the hallway. Detailed video useful for those who love woodworking;

3. Parts old furniture It’s also easy to transform it into a hanger, for example, by building a multifunctional model based on a chair. This design is convenient because a jacket and suit trousers, a shirt and a tie are conveniently located on one module.

4. The original base for hangers will become original device in a room where there is temporarily no wardrobe. Any wooden stalk that is suspended from the ceiling parallel to the floor at a level slightly above height will do.

5. An old "hunting" idea is to use deer antlers instead of hanger hooks. They can be attached to any base - for a wall hanger or a vertical rack with horns. Moose antlers will also work.

6. The design made of plastic pipes will appeal to fans of technical crafts.

7. Small hangers for the closet are also needed, for example, in the form of connected rings made of cardboard or plastic. They are suitable for hanging scarves and neckerchiefs, belts and belts.

8. A simple roll-up wire hanger with clothespins along the edges is an excellent device for storing trousers or skirts. The shape of such simple hangers can be classic, in the form of a curved paper clip or in the form of an intricate labyrinth - as your imagination suggests.

Hangers as a stylistic decoration

When choosing the material, shape and design of hangers, you should consider the style of your interior:

  • wooden hanger with turned decorations suitable for English office or a discreet classic hallway;
  • soft hangers covered with bright fabric will decorate a bedroom in country, shabby chic, romanticism or boho style;
  • metal-plastic structures will emphasize the originality of loft apartments and decorate the shelter of a lonely wanderer in the power of techno or hi-tech;
  • old restored hangers fit vintage, retro, Biedermeier or Victorian styles;
  • hangers of the simplest shape and design - an ascetic attribute in the style of minimalism or functionalism;
  • original hangers with a “girlish” design are suitable for a Barbie-style children’s room;
  • a chic and impressively decorated hanger - for a boudoir in a palace style;
  • satin ribbons, sparkles, beads and stones are the attributes of a glamorous bedroom.

Features of making hangers

When making hangers of any type, you must take into account that clothes can be different, large or small, children's or adults, fluffy or narrow. Therefore, to make the hanger more practical, you need to select different hooks for clothes, and it is also advisable to place them on different heights. In addition to clothes, it is customary to leave various things on hangers, such as Cell phones, bags or keys. To ensure that these things do not get lost, you can provide the necessary niches, a shelf or a special hook in the design for them, which will only be used as a hanger for keys or for bags.

Wall hanger

To create a simple wall hanger, use ordinary boards, which can be purchased at any hardware store or supermarket. The process of creating a wall hanger looks like this:

1) Purchased boards are carefully sanded and cleaned using sandpaper or a grinder;

2) Then the surface of the boards is primed with varnish on water based;

3) In order for the surface to be smoother, when all the boards are dry, cleaning can be repeated;

5) Then, once the boards are dry, use a screwdriver and self-tapping screws to connect them together. This creates the base for the hanger;

6) Then, to add more functionality to the future hanger, a mirror is attached to it using special glue;

7) As a rule, all wall-mounted wooden hangers are made with upper shelves for placing hats. For this purpose, pre-prepared boards are screwed using confirmations to the base of the hanger;

8) Well, the last final stage is attaching coat hooks to the frame of the product.

floor hanger

Most often, such a hanger is made of laminated chipboard or chipboard. This gives an advantage in choosing a color, since the variety of shades of such wood materials is very large. In order to beautifully and correctly make blanks for a future hanger, you need special furniture machines, therefore, it is recommended to contact any furniture shop, where they can quickly and efficiently cut wood boards, and also glue an edge to its end sides. Then the ready-made basic elements can be connected together using a screwdriver and confirmations in accordance with the layout. And at the very end, attach hooks for clothes. And the DIY clothes hanger is ready.

Special hangers

As noted above, in addition to clothes, hangers in the hallway are also used to place various wardrobe items and accessories that should always be at hand when going out into the yard. Therefore, it is also important to provide special places in the design of the hanger where you can put or place various small and not so small items, for example: glasses, keys, umbrellas and, probably, one of the main elements of a woman’s wardrobe - bags.

Note!

Bag hanger is necessary element Any hallway, as a rule, is located at some distance from the place where the clothes are located, so that, if necessary, there is uncluttered access to the bag.

It is also advisable to place keys in a special secluded place on a hanger so that to a stranger it was difficult to find them, and the owner always knew where they were.

Materials

In order to create it, you will need the following materials:

  • plastic or metal panel with perforation,
  • multi-colored floss threads (in principle, knitting threads are also suitable),
  • scissors,
  • hooks (in this case 4 pieces with a ball at the end).

ADVICE: where can I get such a perforated sheet? At any hardware or furniture store, ask for perforated sheet metal. And they will cut you the size you need.

Work order:

  1. We buy perforated sheet the right size.
  2. You do regular cross stitch with threads, only the fabric is larger.
  3. You can choose any word you like, or a simple picture (a heart, for example), the main thing is to make sure that everything fits and the spaces between the letters are the same.
  4. When the inscription is ready, attach the hooks through the holes in the panel and hang the hanger on the wall (you don’t even need to drill holes for the fasteners, they are already there).

Wooden hanger

If you have a pallet lying around at your dacha, then this master class will help you find one for it. useful application. If there is none, then a hanger can be made from an ordinary wooden board.

Necessary materials:

  • Pallet or wooden plank
  • Hooks
  • Paint and paint container
  • Brush or roller
  • Protective gloves
  • Drill
  • Jigsaw
  • Sander or sandpaper
  • Measuring tape
  • Pencil
  • Wood cleaning cloth

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Preparing the Wood

  1. Separate one board from the pallet (or take a regular wooden board), clean it of dirt. Trim to size if it is too big.
  2. By using grinder make the surface even and smooth; if you don’t have a machine, you can use sandpaper by hand, it will take more time, but the desired result can be achieved.

Step 2: Mark where the hooks will be

Use a measuring tape to mark the points where you will attach the hooks. They can be located along the same line at equal intervals, or above and below at intervals, as you prefer.

Step 3: Drill Holes for Hooks

  • Make holes for the hooks with a drill (check first that the width corresponds to the desired size).
  • Once completed, clean the board from dust.

Step 4: Paint the Boards

  • Choose the color and type of paint depending on your preferences and interior. Water-based acrylic paint in a bright blue color was used here.

If you wish, you can use a wood preservative before painting to ensure its long life.

Step 5: Insert Fasteners

  1. On the back of the board, insert the fasteners that will be used to hang the board from the wall. They should be located symmetrically to each other, relative to the middle of the board.
  2. Here we used hooks that are screwed into previously drilled holes. They are easy to attach, the main thing is that they have the appropriate diameter.

Create your own design - choose the color, paint with patterns, choose the location of the hooks, as well as their color and size. All is ready!

From copper pipe

This hanger is especially suitable for hat lovers. It is difficult to find a place for them where they can be stored and not wrinkled; it takes up too much space in the closet. This is an excellent option for direct use – for clothing and for decorating a room. Of course, in addition to hats, a clothes hanger will also fit here.

Necessary materials:

  • Copper pipe
  • Scissors
  • Clothespins
  • Rope

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Prepare the base

Cut the rope to a size large enough to hang the hanger. Pass the rope through the copper pipe.

Step 2: Attach Hat Hanging Strings

Cut a few more pieces of rope and tie them onto the pipe, leaving enough space between them so that the hats do not interfere with each other later.

Step 3: Hang the hanger

Attach the ends of the rope with copper pipe to the wall or ceiling (for this there must be hooks or a pipe). Attach clothespins to the ropes hanging from the pipe; now you can hang hats on them. You can also hang a clothes hanger on the pipe.

ADVICE: Choose the length of the pipe depending on the quantity free space on the wall, hats and clothes.

As you can see, it is done very quickly, even in half an hour you can do it, and it looks very original.

Leather belt hanger

This wall hanger is suitable for the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom. The type is similar to the hanger described in the previous master class, but its use is more universal. It will beautifully complement the interior of your apartment, while requiring very little effort and time to make.

Necessary materials:

  • Leather belts (2 pieces of fairly soft leather)
  • Two small pieces of leather (harder)
  • Wooden stick (from a tree branch)
  • S-hooks
  • Scissors
  • Thread and needle (suitable for leather)
  • Leather punch

Step-by-step instruction:

Step 1: Preparing the belts

  1. Cut two leather belts to the required length, they should be the same. Wrap the strap around the stick and mark how much you need to wrap around it.
  2. In the place where the belt meets after the girth, it needs to be sewn to fix the stick so that it does not fall out. Do the same with the second belt.
  3. To prevent the seam from being visible, make decorative leather straps: use a narrow strap to wrap the strap attached to the stick, where the seam is, and sew it, connecting the ends (the same with the second strap).

Step 2: Attach the hanger

Using a leather punch, make holes on top of the straps (in the center of the width) for hanging this design on the wall or ceiling (on previously attached hooks).

Step 3: Hanging Hooks

Hang the required number of S-shaped hooks on the wooden stick and the hanger is ready for use.

From branches and cuts

Branches and cuttings are excellent material for wall hangers. First of all, it’s very affordable! And secondly, wood will never go out of style and will perfectly complement the style of any apartment!

You can make many crafts for your home from branches - more on that in the article .

From pallets

If you are going to make a wall hanger and choose a cheap and quick option, then a hanger made of wooden boards or pallets is exactly what you need. If you think that it will look ordinary and unoriginal, look at the selection of photos below and make sure that from these materials you can create a truly unique thing that will decorate the interior of the apartment.

Select paint (or simply treat the wood with an antiseptic, preserving the natural color), hooks, give the board the desired shape, come up with your own own way decorate the boards.

More complex hangers can be made from wood. More precisely, it’s not even a matter of complexity, they are labor-intensive, you need to spend more time on them.

Technology for making hangers from improvised means

Having summed up all the master classes, I would like to derive a single formula for making and being creative with hangers. It can be roughly divided:

  • The basis- can be any item from a finished board to old items.
  • Hooks for hangers- you don’t have to buy them, you can remove them from coat hangers.

Basics from improvised means

You can also use things for making that, at first glance, are not at all suitable for this: skis, oars, rulers, etc. how much imagination is enough? A wonderful way to find a use for things lying around in the pantry.

Hooks for hangers

Hooks also do not have to be standard (although their range of choice is quite wide). Start looking at things with the thought “where else can you be used?” I'm sure that with a little training, interesting ideas they will start to come more and more often, and this applies not only to hangers, of course.

Attach individual hooks to the wall; their design should look like a decorative element, even if there is nothing on them.

Wall Hangers Ideas

Designers are increasingly coming up with ideas for creative and functional clothes hangers. Sometimes their designs are quite elementary and not difficult to do at home.

Metal, of course, is more difficult to work with, but if you want to create such a hanger, it will not be difficult. Make branches in the shape of a tree or hang hangers on a pipe - the result will be durable and functional.

All these photos are a piece of what you can create with your own hands. Take the elements you like, combine them, and most importantly, have fun with it all!

Hangers for outerwear are needed in any corridor of both a house and an apartment. They are an integral attribute of practicality and design. And this is especially true for narrow corridors, where there is very little space to install a full-fledged locker.

Figure 1. To construct a wall hanger, use 16 mm thick laminated chipboard.

Today, designers offer a lot of options for wall hangers - from the cheapest to the most expensive designs. But it will be much more profitable and pleasant to build such a simple hanger with your own hands. Moreover, it is not as difficult as you might think at first. How to make a hanger yourself? Let's look at a few good options hangers for corridors.

Standard wall hanger option

Material and tools

To begin with, we will describe in detail how to build a modern wooden hanger, on which you can hang not only coats, but also put hats and scarves. The final wall structure will look something like this (Figure 1). Before work, immediately stock up on the following tools and materials:

  1. Laminated chipboards. You will need two pieces measuring 25 by 80 cm for the side strips. You can make them straight, not curly, as shown in the figure.
  2. 2 back strips 125 by 12 cm.
  3. 4 identical strips measuring 18 by 80 cm for the main vertical internal walls.
  4. A shelf for hats measuring about 135 by 25-30 cm.
  5. Hammer.
  6. Construction level and plumb line.
  7. PVC edge for finishing chipboard edges.
  8. Jigsaw or sander.
  9. Ruler and pencil (chalk) for marking.
  10. Iron.
  11. Wood glue.
  12. Tin scissors or construction knife.
  13. Soft cloth.
  14. Sandpaper.
  15. 6 large and 2 small metal hooks (as in the picture).
  16. Self-tapping screws.
  17. Screwdriver or hammer drill.
  18. Dowels.

When choosing the base material (chipboard), it is preferable to choose sheets with a thickness of at least 15 mm. In this case, the texture and color are selected independently in the corridor. Please note that you can order planks required sizes, or you can cut them out yourself with a jigsaw, then sand them and cover them with tape, which is placed on glue and pressed with a hot iron.

DIY finishing will take longer, but you will spend less money on it. Custom-made planks will be expensive, but specialists will be able to make them very quickly and efficiently. But clothes will never get caught on small imperfections in the wood.

Assembly and fastening

When the preparation of the main parts is completed, you can safely begin assembling and attaching the hanger. First, markings are made on the wall. It is advisable to hang the finished structure on 4 self-tapping screws: 2 on top and 2 on the bottom along the edges. This way it will hold on much more securely. When marking, be sure to use a tape measure and a pencil and check everything several times so as not to spoil anything.

After this, start assembling the structure. First, connect the front vertical strips to the back horizontal ones. In this case, it is very important to measure everything correctly, so that the distance between the vertical slats is the same. And only then can everything be attached to the screws from the back.

After this, it is nailed on top with nails or on the same screws, and a shelf for hats is mounted. While working, check everything with a level to ensure there are no errors. Otherwise, the hanger will be crooked. Metal hooks are attached depending on what type they are.

Next, all you have to do is attach the hanger to the wall. To do this, you can use self-tapping screws or use hooks. In any case, dowels are first driven into the designated places, and then fastening is carried out. After hanging the structure, make sure once again that it is secure and level, after which you can safely use the hanger.

Non-standard hanger options

Now let’s take a brief look at some of the simplest, cheapest options for hangers. Of course, the hangers will not be as big and beautiful, but in terms of functionality they are quite good. And they look very interesting, as they are non-standard.

Metal utensil hangers

Figure 2. Forks can be used either aluminum or steel.

A clothes hanger made from ordinary spoons or table forks. To do this, you will only need the required number of forks, dowels, nails and one wooden plank on which the forks will be attached, since they will not look so beautiful on the wall.

The fork handles must be bent so that they become hooks. And you can leave the cloves themselves the same or also bend them a little to the side like a fan to make them decorative. Holes for nails are made under the teeth themselves.

Then markings are made on the wall onto which the wooden sheet is attached. And already on the canvas itself, places for fork-hooks are marked, where they are then attached. Fastening occurs with ordinary nails. Eventually ready-made option hangers will look something like this (Figure 2).

Using the same principle, you can use, for example, not forks, but wrenches as hangers. This will be a kind of decoration. But for certain styles it will be quite appropriate. Just bend it like this wrench will be much heavier (Figure 3).

Natural structures made from knots

Figure 3. To make the wrench bend more easily, it must be preheated.

Another practically cost-free and original option for hangers for outerwear are ordinary wooden knots (Figure 4). To do this, you first need to select the most unusual beautiful knots in the right quantity, and then prepare them carefully.

First you need to clean them well from loose bark and dry them (only in the shade, not under direct sun rays). This usually takes about a week or two. Then you need to impregnate them with a special primer against wood rotting with a light antiseptic; you can also use drying oil. And after the liquid is completely absorbed, you need to cover the knots with varnish.

If you want such a natural hanger to shine, then you need to apply several layers of varnish; drying time will take longer, but in the end you will get a glossy finish. One or two coats give a slight shine or matte finish to the wood, but the wood remains just as protected.

It is also not recommended to attach such hooks directly to the wall, so as not to damage the wallpaper. It's best to take advantage Chipboard panel of the required size, which must be hung on the wall, and then the knots are attached to the panel using nails.
