Self-tapping screws for metal.

As a rule, they have a frequent pitch, the distance between the threads is very small, unlike wood screws. Frequent steps are required for dense materials to ensure reliable adhesion.

Self-tapping screws are made from stainless or carbon steel, as well as brass. Made of brass, suitable for use in conditions wet areas, but they are more expensive - important!

The main thing is that the length of the fastening part passes through the entire sheet of sheathing and fixes it on the sheathing! The most popular are self-tapping screws with a length of 25 and 45 millimeters.

Note that there are universal self-tapping screws suitable for wood, metal, and drywall, but professionals still prefer to use specialized ones. In addition, special mention should be made of roofing screws, which have special caps with rubber or silicone inserts to protect the roof material. They can also differ in the type of surfaces being fastened.

There is also confirmation, self-tapping screws, which are used in the manufacture of furniture. They are also called a screw tie, Euroscrew or Euroscrew. The confirmat is distinguished by a blunt end, a countersunk head, and connects parts made of MDF, wood, plywood, and other wood materials.
