Type of luminaire with LED lamp for toilet. Lighting in the toilet: wiring, lamp, installation. Zoning the bathroom with light

Lamps for bathrooms and toilets- this is a whole separate category of lamps designed for wet rooms that simply need special lighting. Just imagine what the lamp carries, for example, in bathrooms: steam, high humidity, splashes of water. For such premises there are bathroom lamps, with so-called IP protection. Typically this value should be IP 44.

Ceiling lamps for bathrooms and toilets must be waterproof!

What are they? lamps for bathrooms with IP 44 marking? They are sealed, made in such a way that not a single drop of water, even the smallest one, gets on the lamp or socket. The visible outer part of such lamps it is a one-piece design without any holes (unlike its counterparts - conventional spotlights, which are a decorative rim with a hole where you can easily access the lamp).

In lamps for wet rooms, access to the lamp is closed transparent or, most often, frosted glass. By the way, they are manufactured using the same principle. For greater tightness, all parts are dismountable bathroom lamp supplemented with silicone gaskets. The light source in these lamps can be either in the form of a good old lamp with a reflector (MR 16), where you are free to choose whether to install an energy-saving or halogen lamp, or with a built-in LED part. We highly recommend the latter, which have a low installation height, for rooms in which the distance between the main and sub-ceiling is minimal.

We kindly ask you to use only moisture-proof lamps in all rooms with a damp environment, which will serve you faithfully much longer than lamps for ordinary rooms, and most importantly without risk to your property and health. Modern market bathroom fixtures has a fairly wide selection for both classic interior Your bathroom as well as for the modern one.

By the way, a small addition: in bathrooms not combined with a bathroom, where there is practically no high humidity and the risk of moisture ingress, you CAN use ordinary spotlights, without moisture protection. But this is only in those cases when you are really convinced of the absence of humidity. In bathrooms, we recommend using ONLY waterproof special lamps, which you will find in this section.

Any room in your home must fully meet the requirements of comfort and safety. This is necessary so that a person feels normal in his home, can fully relax and do everyday activities.
In the design of home premises, a special place is occupied by lighting, which will allow the room to fully meet the requirements and create the proper conditions for rest and work. Many people don't think about the need for quality lighting throughout the home, including even lighting in rooms like the pantry, bathroom, and closet.

It is about what kind of lighting should be in the toilet that will be discussed in this article. After reading the information below, you can make high-quality lighting in this room with your own hands.

Features of the room

Spacious bathroom

To create complete lighting for the toilet, you need to think through all the nuances and features of this room. IN apartment buildings a toilet with a bathtub takes up very little space. Therefore, here the creation of the desired interior and its lighting has a lot of obstacles and reservations. The situation of combining a bathroom with toilets is especially common. This will allow you to visually expand the space a little, making it more comfortable and convenient.
At the same time, already modern apartments and private houses have a spacious toilet with a bathroom. Here you can use different approaches and lighting fixtures to create the optimal level of lighting.

So, the most important aspect that should be assessed in this matter is the dimensions of the room. And only then it is necessary to correlate the interior of the toilet (one or combined with a bathroom) with the types of lamps and options for their installation.
Note! Correct lighting of the room will allow you to achieve a visual expansion of the space and many other points that will significantly improve the visual perception of the toilet and bathroom.
You should also evaluate the ceilings in the room and their height. The worst option in this situation is small dimensions and low ceilings.
The toilet and bathroom, along with the kitchen, are those rooms that have specific requirements for lighting fixtures. They should definitely be taken into account when planning a lighting system. Lamps for such premises must meet the following requirements:

Waterproof lamp

  • high degree of protection against moisture. Here you need to buy only lamps with an IP rating of 65/66. This indicates that the device is able to withstand direct exposure to water;
  • resistance of lamps to sudden temperature changes. This parameter should be taken into account when the toilet is combined with a bathtub;
  • high tightness of devices. Thanks to the sealing, the lamps will be resistant to dirt and moisture. Penetrating inside the lamp, water and dirt can damage the electronic components of the lamps, which will most directly affect the service life of the lighting fixtures;
  • Connecting lamps with your own hands should be done with extreme caution, preventing contact of wires with water.

Taking into account the requirements of the room (when combined with a bathroom or without it), you can create optimal lighting in your toilet with your own hands.

Backlight levels

Before you start choosing toilet lights, you need to decide on the lighting levels. This room can be arranged on several levels:

Ceiling lighting

  • ceiling lighting (top). You can use different ceiling lamps for these purposes, the main thing is that they meet the requirements of the room. This is, so to speak, the original standard, which is often found in small toilet. But when choosing the type of lamp, it is necessary to take into account the fact at what level the ceilings are located;

Note! Placing lamps on the ceiling will allow you to avoid reducing the space on the walls. This perfect solution for a small toilet.

At the same time, you need to know that any level of suspension can be organized with your own hands. But remember that ceilings and walls are more best places for placing lamps than the floor.

Selection of lamps

Spotlights

Basis good lighting In the toilet there are properly selected lamps. Their type and appearance depends on the selected backlight level:

  • ceiling type. Here you should use small-sized ceiling chandeliers or spotlights. If in the first case, one chandelier installed in the center is enough for a small toilet, then in the second case, several devices placed throughout the ceiling;

Note! To install spotlights, the ceilings must be suspended.

  • wall type. Here you can use wall sconces. This is a great option for a small toilet with low ceilings. But here you should choose flat models that will not protrude too much from the wall space. Otherwise, such a sconce will interfere with free movement around the room;

Wall sconce

The number of lighting fixtures must be selected based on the dimensions of the toilet and the standards that are prescribed in special regulatory documentation (SNiP).
Since the toilet is not the place where people spend most of their time, there is no fundamental need to pay close attention to the appearance of the lamps. The main thing is functionality, and only then appearance. Simple lighting fixtures are suitable for this room, but they must still fit into the existing interior. This condition is more applicable to a small toilet, but for a combined room you can use beautiful decorative lamps of any type of lighting.

Installation of lamps

Connecting lamps in the toilet and bathroom is an important stage on which the operating life of the products depends. If you decide to connect the lamps yourself, then you need to be extremely careful not to get electrical injury. Here main role Wiring installation plays a role. The lamp itself is installed according to standard scheme, which is given in the instructions for the device.
Wiring is installed as follows:

  • first we draw a diagram of the placement of lamps;

Layout

Note! In the bathroom and toilet, the wires from the floor level must be at least 1.5 m away.

  • remember that all places where the wires connect to each other and to the box must have good insulation. Insulation can be done using a special PVC insulating tape. In this case, before connecting, the ends of the wires must be stripped with a knife or wire cutters to 1-2 cm;
  • We fix the wires in the prepared grooves using dowel clamps;
  • this procedure must be repeated for the wires for the remaining lighting fixtures;
  • We cover the grooves with moisture-resistant putty.

Ready lamp

For everything to work out, you must strictly follow safety precautions when working with electricity, as well as adhere to the wiring installation rules.
As you can see, creating high-quality lighting for the toilet is not so very difficult. Knowing the features of this room and the requirements for lamps, your toilet will be lit as it should.

Pros and cons of LED lighting for an apartment

Not the least role in creating an attractive modern interior lighting plays in the bathroom. Good light in an enclosed space creates an environment of comfort. A variety of lamps in the bathroom and toilet is necessary for proper lighting work surfaces and space zoning. In addition, we must not forget about safety, since high humidity and frequent temperature changes impose special requirements for lighting in the bathroom and toilet. Let's look at these issues in more detail and learn how to install lamps in the bathroom yourself according to European standards and your own needs.

Bathroom lighting can be divided into three types: overhead lighting, decorative lighting and local lighting.

All lamps are not often used separately; as a rule, they are combined. Together, they provide the best light, making the room cozy and functional. Each type of lighting is divided into subtypes: chandeliers, perimeter lighting, built-in ceiling lamps.

Design match between light and bathroom style

Don't forget about the design match between the lamps and the style of your bathroom. The choice of lamp should also be based on the stylistic decision of the room. For example, metal lamps strict shapes will look stupid in the bathroom Japanese style, where the emphasis is on calming warm colors. And in a bathroom with an ultra-modern design, lighting fixtures with clear lines in the form of geometric shapes. This is where the material can be metal, plastic or chrome.

The ratio of the size of the lamp and the area of the bathroom

The size of the lighting fixture also determines the area of the room. The hanging model is not installed on a low ceiling; in this case, choose a spherical lamp or a lampshade - a plate. Do not select models with a body made of plastic or colored glass, they distort the light, and therefore a closed lamp made of transparent or matte white material will be the optimal solution.

Light level: calculation based on the area of the bathroom

When installing lights in a bathroom or toilet, adhere to lighting standards, they will protect your eyes. For a bathroom, according to the European standard, the illumination standard is 200 lux: if one lux is equal to one lumen (direct luminous flux per 1 sq. m of area), then for a bathroom with an area of 5 sq. m. m need 1000lm (lumens). Now let's convert these numbers into watts. The flow of light in the bathroom will always be direct and the ratio 200 lux = 200 lm/m2 is ideal. Let's consider several types of lighting fixtures, for example, a 75W incandescent lamp creates a luminous flux of 935lm, this is enough for a 5m2 room according to ISO 8995. Here are some more examples:

  • halogen incandescent lamp 230V 42W -900 lumens;
  • induction lamp 40W -2800 lumens;
  • LED lamp 230V 10W – 860 lumens;
  • LED from 40 to 80W – 6000 lumens;
  • sunlight - 3.63 × 10 28 lumens.

If the bathroom decoration is dominated by bright hues– choose the minimum indicators, the maximum - with a dark finish.

Now you simply select the lamps you need and in the quantity needed to properly illuminate your room .

Bathroom Lighting Safety

GOST prescribes dividing the bathroom into special safety zones. At the same time, each of them has its own requirements for laying wiring and arranging lighting.

Scheme of requirements for lamps depending on the distance from water sources.

Zone 0 – type of protection IPx6 – these are areas located in the bathtub and under the shower. It is allowed to use electrical appliances with a power of no more than 12 Volts. Zone 1 – type of protection IPx4 – it starts from the top edge of the shower stall or bathtub and extends to the ceiling. Here you can install more complex devices, for example, water heaters. But provided that they have good waterproofing. Zone 2 – type of protection IPx4 – this zone is located within a radius of half a meter from the first. Less protected devices and lamps are installed here. Zone 3 – type of protection IPx0 – here you can install sockets and lamps of the usual type without special protection. It is located at a distance of at least 2 m from the bath or shower.

Install a hygrostat that will start the fan in time and dry the room to prevent an accident.

Rules for using electricity in the bathroom

Please remember that electrical boxes, wire outlets and distributors are prohibited from being installed in all areas. When installing wiring, use an RCD. Then, if moisture gets inside the devices or on the wiring, a short circuit will not occur. All electrical appliances installed in the bathroom must be equipped with an anti-drip coating; it is designed to protect against leaks. The use of tees and extension cords in the bathroom is prohibited and this must be taken into account when placing lamps in it - the electrical appliance must be connected directly to the outlet, and it must be waterproof.

Bathroom socket with protective curtain

You cannot install sconces above the bathtub - the lamp may explode due to contact of the heated lamp with water.

There is a way out, and it depends on the size of the room. If the ceilings in your bathroom are high, then install spotlights at a great distance from the water. This is the case when you can use products with a small degree of protection. In the event of a short circuit, the transformer will turn off, block the flow of current to the problem area of the wiring and prevent ignition.

Installing electrical wiring in the bathroom: basic principles

So, lighting fixtures are selected according to the level of illumination and safety. All that remains is to install them. Let’s say you don’t just decide to buy a couple of new lamps for your bathroom, but you want to completely change the entire lighting scheme, or, more simply put, make major renovation in the bathroom. Here are a few simple tips who will help you do it yourself efficiently and safely. Perhaps the advice will also be useful to those who want to monitor the work of electricians for reliability.

Rules for laying electrical wiring in the bathroom

Types of cable for the bathroom

Before you begin replacing electrical wiring, you must disconnect the existing cables from the current in the junction box. You need to make sure that everything electrical devices de-energized using an indicator. It is necessary to groove the ceiling and walls to the required points where it is planned to install one or another electrical appliance for the installation of a new power line. You can lay the cable using corrugation, and to prevent the wire from falling out, it is fixed with plaster. Special clamps that are pre-mounted into the grooves are also suitable as the basis for the fasteners, and then the corrugation with the cable is inserted into them. After completing this stage, the wires in the junction box are connected.

It is better to place the distribution box in a room adjacent to the bathroom to avoid moisture getting inside. If all the work is carried out correctly and there are no short circuits, the grooves are sealed.

Installation of cables in grooves

The wires to the electrical appliance are brought out in the place where it will be located, and an end about 25–30 cm long is left. We do the same with the lamps that will be on the floor.

If several lamps will be turned on by one switch, connect them in series, instead of pulling a separate wire from each of them.

For convenience, you can write and hang the name of the cable on the phase wires of the lamps, so as not to get confused later. Then all electrical appliances are attached. We looked at the features of installing the main type of electrical wiring - hidden. But if you decide to lay the cable open method– protect it with corrugation.

Installing lamps in the bath: video installation guide and photo ideas

We begin to install the lamps in the bathroom from the ceiling. The first option is lampshades or plates. On concrete ceiling this device is strengthened with hardware, which usually comes with the lighting device. If the ceiling is wooden, then everything is simpler - we fasten it with screws or self-tapping screws. The sequence of work is as follows:

  1. turn off the power supply
  2. We strip the ends of the wires and connect them to the terminals of the lampshade - when twisted, the wires are clamped.
  3. then we attach the base of the lampshade and screw in the lamp
  4. we check the connection and mount the decorative cover of the lampshade.

Halogen lamps

This type of lamp has undeniable advantages: they are not afraid of moisture, are very compact with an efficient glow and consume little electricity. However, using them is not always easy. There are often products that operate exclusively at 12 volts. Therefore, installing them in the bathroom will require the installation of a special transformer. Above we have already given an example of the benefits of this device. But this is an expensive pleasure. We do not recommend saving, as cheap transformers are very noisy and quickly fail.

Zoning the bathroom with light

Of course, the ideal option is a spacious bathroom with large window outside. Such a bathroom will give its owners the least worry in choosing lighting. Artificial light is also necessary in such a room, but it is designed only for the dark. Basically, you can limit yourself to ceiling lamps and illumination of work areas.

Bathroom with natural light from the window and illumination of work areas

Bathrooms with a window are not often found; unfortunately, in standard houses we have to be content with very cramped spaces. They require high-quality and bright lighting. But no matter what bathroom you get, it needs lighting products that are varied in brightness and design.

In the bathroom daylight, as a rule, is not provided for, therefore, when renovating a given room, one must necessarily face the choice of lamps installed in the toilet. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the small area and limited space. But for normal lighting of the toilet room, an ordinary incandescent lamp is not enough, and it will not look very nice for a modern interior.

In this article:

Features of organizing lighting in the toilet room

To create a complete lighting system in the toilet, it is necessary to provide for all the features of this room. Typically in apartment buildings residential buildings A very small area is allocated for these premises. Therefore, it is very difficult for them to determine the optimal interior solution.

Since the main problem is the lack of space, lighting equipment should first of all visually make it larger. Properly selected toilet lamps will allow you to achieve not only an expansion of the area, but also other aspects that can improve the perception of a specific room.

Basic requirements for lighting devices

  • Increased level of moisture protection. It is recommended to purchase lamps marked IP65/66, which provide protection for lighting equipment even from direct exposure to water flow.
  • Tightness of the lighting device. The connecting sections of the housing must be as tight as possible in order to completely prevent not only moisture but also dirt from entering the lighting fixture. Otherwise, its electronic mechanisms will quickly fail.
  • Resistance of lighting equipment to temperature changes. This indicator must be taken into account when a bathroom is combined with a bathtub.

Important! When connecting independently ceiling chandelier It is important to prevent contact between electrical wiring and water.

Backlight levels

Before choosing lighting equipment for the toilet, you first need to decide on the lighting level option. There are several of them for this room.

Overhead ceiling lighting

This option involves using ceiling lamps, the models of which are modern market enough. Therefore, when choosing, it is worth taking into account the main requirements for the organization of lighting systems in wet areas. It is also necessary to provide for the ceiling height.

For your information! Ceiling placement of light sources will provide an opportunity to avoid reducing the space of the toilet on the wall side. This is an ideal option for a small room.

Wall lighting

This option for organizing a lighting system is suitable for toilet rooms with low ceilings. The main point in this case is correct location lighting fixtures on the wall. They should not interfere with entering/exiting the premises.

Bottom floor lighting

This option for organizing the lighting system involves the use of flexible light sources or point lighting fixtures built into the floor base.

As a rule, such systems are used quite rarely when compared with the first two options, and most often for spacious toilet rooms in private homes, country cottages or combined bathrooms with a bathroom. This could be additional decorative lighting.

For your information! Any presented option for organizing lighting systems in toilets and bathrooms can be done independently.

Selection of lighting equipment

Properly selected lighting fixtures are the basis for organizing effective illumination of a small room. The model and appearance of the lighting equipment will depend on the selected backlight level.

Ceiling type

  • When choosing a small-sized chandelier, one light source placed in the center of the ceiling surface is sufficient.
  • You will need several spotlights, depending on their power. They are evenly distributed over the entire ceiling area.

Important! Spot-type lighting devices are only suitable for suspended ceiling structures.

Wall type

In this situation, it is quite possible to use wall sconces. For a small toilet room with low ceilings more ideal option does not exist. But it is important to give preference to flat models wall lamps, which will take up the least amount of space. Otherwise, they will constantly interfere when moving around the room.

Floor type

When designing a floor lighting system, you can use spot light models. There are options for luminaires with a high-strength body, built directly into the floor base and into the walls (usually placed from below). You can also use flexible neon or strip with LED elements.

For your information! Required amount light sources is calculated based on the area of the room and lighting standards according to SNiP.

Advantages of using LED spotlights

  • Saving electrical energy . Even though the light in the toilet turns on very rarely and for a short time, everyone wants to save as much as possible. LED lighting sources are the best for this suitable option, especially for older people who may well forget to turn off the lights and have them stay on all day.
  • Quite bright light radiation that does not strain the eyesight. Even several lighting devices installed in the corners of the room, which will create a soft, all-encompassing glow, will not adversely affect the eyes.
  • Easy installation of lighting equipment. Compact LED lamps can be easily installed independently, without the involvement of specialists.
  • High degree of equipment protection from moisture. Although air space the toilet is not as saturated with moisture as the bathroom, an extra precaution would not hurt. But for a combined bathroom, this criterion is quite important.

Lamps installed in the toilet

Lighting system installation

Connecting lamps installed in the toilet is a rather important step. repair work. The duration of its operational period will depend on the quality of installation and connection of the lighting device.

Important! By doing electrical installation work You must independently comply with safety requirements to avoid injury.

Installation of the illuminator itself is given in the instructions that come with it. But you need to carefully understand the correct electrical wiring connection.

Wiring diagram

  • First you need to draw a plan for the location of lighting fixtures if several of them will be used.
  • Next, the surface where the wires will pass is marked.
  • Before electrical installation work begins, the room or the entire apartment is disconnected from electricity.
  • Using a punch, you need to make channels (grooves) along the drawn lines. The electrical wiring will be hidden directly in them.
  • Now you can lay the wires (this must be done from the box to the switch). Separate wire for each lighting device.

Important! Wiring in the toilet and bathroom should be located at a distance of one and a half meters from the floor base.

  • After laying the cable, it is necessary to insulate all connecting sections. To do this, you will need a special insulating PVC tape.

Important! Before connecting, the ends of the wires are carefully stripped of 1-2 cm of insulation.

  • The wiring in the channels is fixed using special dowels - clamps.
  • Upon completion of the work, the grooves are covered with a special putty that is resistant to moisture.

Conclusion! By observing safety requirements when performing electrical installation work and strictly following the instructions for installing the lamp and the electrical wiring diagram, you can install the lighting system yourself, without the involvement of a specialist.

The toilet, of course, is far from the main room in the apartment. However, the bathroom must be equipped in such a way that it is as convenient and safe to use as possible. This applies, of course, to the wiring and connection of lamps in the toilet that must be done correctly.

The peculiarity of bathrooms is, first of all, that in most cases the rooms are small. In addition, toilets usually have no natural light at all, as there are almost never windows in bathrooms. That's why artificial lighting in such rooms, in any case, it should be quite intense and powerful.

Which lamps to choose

Such devices are purchased depending on the design and layout of the bathroom itself. For example, lighting in a small toilet, long and narrow, is best arranged using some beautiful wall lamps. Using such equipment narrow room can be easily expanded visually. To do this, the lamps should be hung on both long walls higher.

For a restroom with low ceilings, regular flat lampshades are best suited. Lighting in a large toilet can be organized using a variety of lamps. These can be small ceiling chandeliers, wall sconces, and even floor options similar devices.

When choosing lamps for a toilet, among other things, you should take into account the standards provided by SNiP. Otherwise, using the restroom will be inconvenient in the future. So, for example, according to the rules, normal lighting in a toilet per 1 m2 is 20 lux.

Wiring rules

According to SNiP standards, the cable in the toilet, as it is allowed, is only allowed to be laid in a hidden way. That is, the wires in such rooms are pulled in grooves. The only exception in this case are wooden buildings. In the toilets of such houses, cables can be laid in hermetically sealed metal pipes.

It is not prohibited to install sockets in toilets. However, such elements are most often installed only in combined bathrooms. In such premises they are used for washing machines, hair dryers, etc. Sometimes lamps in the toilet are also connected to sockets. In any case, only waterproof structures (minimum IP 44) should be used in bathrooms.

Distribution boxes Usually they are not installed either in separate toilets or in combined bathrooms. In any case, it is better to move such an element outside the restroom.

Cable selection

Of course, the wires used for installation in the toilet, as in any other place in the apartment, must be fire-resistant and reliable. When choosing a cable for a restroom, you need to pay attention to:

    its section;

    material and number of cores;

    certificate.

For obvious reasons, such products should be purchased exclusively from trusted manufacturers.

As for the material, in most cases, property owners today use copper wiring for their electrification. Aluminum is considered outdated and does not meet the requirements of organizing modern life.

Wiring to toilets, combined or separate, is three-wire. That is, there must be a ground wire in the cable.

If everywhere in the rooms there are stretched copper wires, then, of course, you should use this type of cable for the restroom. The aluminum option is not particularly suitable in this case. It is believed that it is best to use low-smoke cables VVGng 3x1.5 or VVGng-LS in bathrooms. In any case, the cross-section of the wire purchased for the toilet should not be less than 2.5 mm 2.

Location of devices: standards

In individual restrooms, lights can be hung almost anywhere. When installing such devices in combined bathrooms, the following rules should be observed:

    It is allowed to place lamps in the toilet, as well as sockets, no closer than 60 cm to sinks, bathtubs and showers;

    It is also not allowed to place sockets or lighting fixtures directly next to the floor, to avoid them getting wet due to leaks.

The wires from the restroom should be connected to a two-pole RCD. This method will allow you to immediately turn off the power to the bathroom in the future, if necessary.

How to wire a toilet

Perform the procedure for electrifying the restroom as follows:

    make markings on the walls;

    measure the required wire length;

    buy the cable itself.

    perform wall slitting according to the markings;

    make sockets for sockets, if provided;

    install switches.

How to make light in the toilet: wall strobing

IN brick houses Cables are usually pulled using fairly simple technology. It is not too difficult to ditch walls made of such material. After all, bricks are laid using cement mortar. This material is quite easy to use with a hammer and chisel.

The seam between the rows of bricks stretches in the vast majority of cases along the entire wall. So horizontal cable laying in such a house can be done in just a couple of hours. In this case, you will have to tinker with vertical installation. After all, bricklaying is done with bandaging of seams. Therefore, in order to raise or lower the cable along the plane of the wall, you will have to use a grinder.

The same tool is usually used for gating concrete walls. In this case, horizontal knockout has to be done more carefully than in brickwork- using a building level.

Wire routing

After the grooves are laid in accordance with the chosen lighting design in the toilet, they begin to hollow out the sockets for the sockets. For this purpose, a hammer drill with a special attachment is usually used. Next, we begin to actually lay the wires. Pulling cables in grooves is allowed without any additional protection. But it is best to lay the wires in grooves along the pipe. In this case, in the future, if necessary, they can be easily replaced.

When laying a cable in a groove, you can fasten it, for example, with thin metal plates, cut yourself. Each such element is nailed into a groove in the middle. The cable is then pulled over the plate. Next, bend the ends of the metal strip over the laid wire. Using the same principle, you can also secure a pipe under the cable in the groove.

After the wiring to the toilet has been laid, the groove is sealed with alabaster or cement mortar. After waiting for the material to dry, the section of the wall above the cable is carefully sanded using sandpaper.

Connecting devices

After the wall has dried, you can begin to actually arrange the lighting in the toilet. When using only one lamp in the restroom, it is best to move the switch outside the restroom, for example, into the corridor.

As with sockets, a socket is pre-hollowed out for this element. Switches are installed according to the diagrams drawn on their rear panel. In cables, the ground wire usually has a sheath yellow color, "phase" - red, "zero" - blue. In accordance with this, the connection is made. When installing lighting in the toilet, sockets are installed using the same technology. That is, they connect the earth, phase and zero wires to the corresponding terminals of the product.

Smart connection

You don't have to use the light in the toilet too often. But many people simply forget to flip the switch after visiting the restroom. And this, of course, is very uneconomical. To avoid this, you can install not ordinary, but “smart” lighting in the toilet.

In this case, in addition to the lamp itself and the switch, a special device is installed in the restroom - a presence sensor to turn on the light. Such a device is installed in the toilet right at the entrance. Equipment of this type is connected directly to the wiring coming out of the wall and to the lamp according to the diagram provided by the manufacturer.

Instead of a presence sensor to turn on the light in front of the entrance to the restroom, you can also install a motion sensor. Such a device will also make living in the house much more comfortable. It differs from a presence sensor in that it does not “catch” various kinds of small movements. However, a person passing through the doorway similar device In any case, he will be able to “notice”. At the same time, motion sensors are somewhat cheaper than presence sensors.
