History of Pop Art style

The term "pop art" first appeared in the press in an article by the English critic Lawrence Alloway (1926-1990). In 1966, Alloway openly admitted: “Then I did not put into this concept the meaning that it contains today. I have used this word along with the term "pop culture" to describe the products of the mass media, and not the works of art for which elements of this "folk culture" were used. In any case, the concept came into use sometime between the winter of 1954/55 and 1957. The first "Part" works were created by three artists who studied at the Royal College of Art in London - Peter Black, Joe Tilson and Richard Smith. But the first work to achieve pop art icon status was Richard Hamilton's collage What Makes Our Homes Today So Different, So Inviting?

Pop Art originated in the mid-1950s in England as a reaction to abstract painting, which was considered too sophisticated and elitist by pop art supporters, but it reached its peak in the 1960s in the United States. The main emphasis was on change, variety, fun, rebelliousness and short-lived, disposable things, cheapness and a bet on mass consumption.

Designers got busy making things the consumer wanted, not what they needed. Mass media and advertising were the main themes of pop art, wittily glorifying the "consumer society". The objects of pop art were images of mass culture, reflecting the spirit of the era.

The most famous works of pop art style: collages by Robert Rauschenberg - a combination oil paint and clippings from newspapers and advertising publications; pictures of comics of large sizes by Roy Lichtenstein; giant cakes by Claes Oldenburg made of painted plaster, as well as car-sized pieces of cake and hamburgers sewn from canvas and plush, as well as the work of Jasper Johns, James Rosenquist and of course Andy Warhol.

T-shirts with images of comics, celebrities and everyday objects are all a legacy of pop art from the 60s. Later, pure pop art was closely intertwined with the advertising business and faded away, becoming part of mass culture, but echoes of it are still felt today.

Pop design was inextricably linked to the American dream of a completely consumerist worldview, which in the early 60s took over everything. Western world. The idea of producing durable, high-quality goods has been replaced by the slogan “use today, throw it away tomorrow”. It was a breakthrough in philosophy industrial production and design. Child chair from corrugated cardboard by Peter Murdock, the colored pneumatic chair from polyvinyl chloride Di Paz, D Urbino, P. Lomasi became symbols of the spreading “culture of fragility”. Pop design with its bright colors, bold shapes, cheap goods has become a style for the young. The most popular materials for pop designers were various types of plastics, the manufacturing processes of which were already well mastered in the 60s. Plastic attracted low price and a variety of colors. Enzo Mari was one of the first to experiment with plastic.

Features of the Pop Art style

Pop art in the interior is an artificially made place, because the “laws” of the ceiling, floor and walls are not observed in it, they can smoothly run into each other or their boundaries are “blurred” from time to time by fascinating visual solutions.

For interior design in the style of pop art, it is desirable to have a spacious room. If the dimensions leave much to be desired, you can get by with the “light” option - focus on the details, stylize the interior to the desired image.

Pop art is characterized by the use of bright (up to acidic) and saturated colors. As a rule, the main color of the interior is white, pastel colors close to white are allowed. In addition to it go color combinations from several bright colors. Feature- Colors rarely complement each other. More often they contrast and oppose. However, do not abuse the riot of colors - you need to consider that you will have to live in this room. Bright can look beautiful and fresh, but there is a danger that the owner will quickly get tired of the riot of colors.

Walls in the style of pop art must be bright, and ideally - different colors and even textures. It is better to forget about harmony in the classical sense right away. One of the solutions is pop art, when one of the walls remains light, two more - in contrasting bright colors, and the fourth - is made in the technique of repeatedly repeating small patterns.

Furniture in the style of pop art. Pop art does not accept oversaturation of furniture, so limit yourself to a minimal set. Pop art furniture should be extraordinary and certainly not classic. The forms are gentle, rounded, somewhat unusual - in the style of "retro-futurism". Often used in furniture is a female silhouette, cartoon characters and celebrities. The furniture is characterized by bright colors (one, and preferably several in one item), sofas and chairs of rounded shapes typical of the 60s, poufs and small tables, bright plastic has come into fashion. Cabinets are not appropriate in pop art, as this is the most significant element in cluttering up the interior space. It is better to replace them with niches, built-in wardrobes and even podiums. For clothes, it is best to allocate a separate dressing room. interesting moment: ornaments, drawings from comics and even graffiti can and should be applied to furniture.

Pop art indulges in an abundance of details and interesting little things. The use of repetitive motifs is characteristic: posters, paintings, carpets with a replicated pattern. Welcome bright and colorful textiles, selected in the main color scheme. Various stylized plastic accessories: watches, photo frames, figurines, vases, lamps and candlesticks. In addition to plastic and textiles, you can still distinguish painted leather and bright metal (chrome) details in the interior. The most unusual items are suitable for pop art: luminous dishes, a pink toilet bowl, a lamp in the form of a superman and other extraordinary things.

Pop art style in the interior is definitely not for everyone. The abundance of bright and caustic colors can tire the working class, which is more pleasant to relax in neutral or pastel colors. But for those who like to shock others, in particular young people, as well as for salons or stylized cafes, the style will come in handy like no other.

Pop art is a direction addressed to young people, therefore it gives the main place to catchy colors, bold combinations, non-standard, “crazy” solutions. This style is suitable for those who are ready to plunge into the "abyss" of popular art, throw away all conservative and traditional ideas and make their life shiny, catchy and devoid of calmness.

Basic information:

Using Geometric Shapes to Simulate Movement

Like pop art, in the 1960s. op art has had a significant impact on graphic and interior design, from furniture to wallpaper

Op-art - an abbreviated version of optical art - optical art) - an artistic movement of the second half of the 20th century, using various visual illusions based on the features of the perception of flat and spatial figures. The current continues the rationalistic line of technicism (modernism).

Op art (English op art - short for "optical art") One of the varieties of kinetic art; O.-a. seeks to achieve an optical illusion of movement of a motionless art object by psychophysiological influence on the audience, their activation. Unlike kinetic art, the work and the viewer are motionless. The desired optical effect is based on the counterpoint of intense artistic perception, which requires the concentration of the viewer's attention, and the actual immobility of the artifact.

Aesthetic specificity of O.-a. consists in replacing the classical perspective with a multifocal vision of a virtual optical space. The movement in it is always virtual, not real: its very idea is visualized. An illusion of "revived space" is created, the planar perception of the picture is destroyed. O.-a. arose in 1965 in the USA. The new art movement announced itself with the Responsive Eye exhibition, which presented paintings by its creators - J. Egem, N. Schöffer, H.-R. Demarco, A. and J. Duarte, A. Asiz and others. The first works of O.-a. were black and white (W. Weatherly, W. Riley); in the future, the colors serve to achieve maximum contrasts of their intensity, to create an optical color mixing that causes the illusion of movement. Searches are also subject to dynamic effect. optimal ratios between light and various materials- mirrors, sets of optical glasses, metal plates etc. (X. Mack, D. Le Parc, G. Alviani).

O.'s theory - and. being developed by the Research Group (B. Munari, U. Eco, E. Marie). Special attention is given to the partnership between the artist and the spectator-actor, and not a passive contemplator. Enough Hoaxes emphasizes that the true concept of the object involves a twofold approach, combining the immutable givenness of a particular situation and its infinitely diverse vision. The factor of randomness of the viewer's perception is emphasized, which stimulates the variability of the individual vision of the artifact.

Having reached its peak in the second half of the 60s, later O.-a. continued to exist both in the actual art forms (V. Vezerli, J. Egem), and in design, advertising; applied areas related to the aestheticization of the environment.

Inscribing pop art in world history art, Andy Warhol did not even suspect that the direction would affect all spheres of human life for half a century to come. Interior design could not stand aside.

History in the interior

Pop art in any part of the home (living room, office or bathroom) tells how a person lives, the owner of the room, what his hobby is and what he works with. Each item carries a story. This is the author's style, where you are the artist. Fantasy is allowed!

Bright colors, unusual textures and shapes as a style feature

Pop art style uses chaotic color mixes and zoning with bright accents. You can keep your attention with colored tiles on the floor or a cloud-shaped sofa. If this is not enough, add glitter and shine. Gloss - required element coverings for ceilings, floors, furniture and decor.

Comfortable furniture

Fancy curls or expensive forged details in the design of the room - this is not about the pop art style.

Pop art is a clear and functional set of rounded furniture that does not clutter up the space. The only thing that the style recognizes from the decor is the shaping of furniture in the form of other objects or geometric shapes.

Decor as in the exhibition

Decor and accessories show the owner's personality. In pop art, details are repeated, creating compositions. The more interesting the better. Decorate the walls with posters, comics, characteristic color portraits and paintings, simple at first glance mass market goods. For example, decorated bottles of coca-cola in pop art become an independent installation. Pop art recognizes handmade things. Create something that is difficult to fit into everyday frames, go against the system, use simple little things for inspiration. Remember the same Warhol with his can of Cambells soup.

Functional lighting

Lighting sets accents in the interior. Spotlights emphasize nearby details. At the same time, a central chandelier or a lamp in the shape of an animal, with an appropriate idea, themselves become accents - objects of art and discussion.

NOT decorating windows

Pop art space is like a gallery. It has enough decor so as not to be distracted by textiles.

With a rich range of colors, unusual details in the form of celebrity paintings and popular advertising brands, unique furniture with stunning prints, this style challenged the conservatism and modernism that were popular at the time.

Photos of pop art style will not leave anyone indifferent, due to the abundance of acid shades, glossy surfaces, a minimum of furniture and a maximum of details that contradict each other.

Therefore, in most cases, this style is not used in the design. residential apartments and homes, and used in decorating bars, restaurants, exhibitions, clubs and shops.

In residential premises, the pop art style should be taken as a basis only in the case of large dimensions of an apartment or house, because. because of the huge palette of rich colors and the variety of details, the interior of a small room will be ridiculous and too overloaded.

Primary colors

Pop art interior design differs from others in the presence of contrasting, saturated and defiant colors in its palette.

In the decoration of walls and ceilings, a standard black and white scale is most often used, against which various accents are placed. unusual color, such as a bright purple sofa with pink cushions, yellow armchairs and a soft lavender coffee table.

The walls are decorated with bright paintings or collages depicting celebrities or any other compositions made in this style.

It is also acceptable to decorate the walls in multi-colored contrasting tones.

In the style of pop art in the interior, both the design of the room based on one color and the play with a bright palette are likely. The main thing is to maintain harmony and balance so that the environment is pleasing to the eye and not overloaded.

For wall decoration in rooms, various photo wallpapers or murals depicting a popular movie star, comic book character, etc. are used.

A standard and harmonious option is to decorate one wall with photo wallpapers with a bright pattern or create some kind of plot from a comic book. The other pair of walls is painted in contrasting bright colors, and the opposite pair is painted in plain white.

Gloss finish is used to decorate the floor and ceiling. Gloss can be used in a neutral color or a defiant bright one. The installation of suspended stretch ceilings with various multi-colored lighting is popular.

A floor finished in soothing colors is an excellent canvas for accents in the form of bright furniture. For its decoration, most often the choice falls on parquet, ceramics, carpet or use the self-leveling floor technique.

Furniture and decor elements

There should be a minimum amount of furniture in a pop art style room. Instead of a wardrobe - small built-in wardrobes, because. an interior in this style does not approve of a large amount of furniture.

Therefore, it is important to use only the most common and necessary furniture, such as a sofa, armchairs, tables, a bed, chairs or ottomans, with smooth lines and transitions, decorated in rich colors.

It is standard to use materials such as leather, plastic or any other fabric of a defiant shade in such an interior.

Decor elements and various accessories are the most important link in pop art interior design. Hand-made details, vintage bright objects, accents in the form of plastic photo frames, vases of unusual shapes in acid shades and similar elements made of metal and chrome are popular.

They also use flashy textiles, soft carpets and skins. On the walls - colorful portraits famous people, brands or, for example, your portrait.

Pop art style is most often used to decorate a room where young people or teenagers live.

But it suits bright personalities who lead a cheerful and challenging lifestyle, who have great energy and a wide range of emotions, who are able to live in such a rich environment.

Also a positive this style is the possibility of creating such a style yourself.

The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment in combinations of colors and accessories and have the desire to create something unique, letting your imagination fly.

Photo style Pop Art in the interior

A new direction in art appeared in Britain in the middle of the 20th century - Pop Art (English pop-art, short for popular art), the purpose of which, unlike other areas, was not the spiritual development of society, but only entertainment.

Pop art is one of the branches of avant-garde. The works in the new style were a kind of reaction to the seriousness of non-objective art and other styles that appeared in the twentieth century, and did not carry any deep philosophical meaning, but only reflected the influence of mass culture on the consumer society.

History of the development of Pop Art

As an artistic direction, it originated in the 50s of the twentieth century in England, and in the 60s the style was further developed in the USA, New York. The founders of pop art were the artists Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns.

In 1952, an association of pop art artists "Independent Group" was opened in London, led by artists E. Paolozzi and R. Hamilton. The members of the association studied the technologies for creating modern advertising and its impact on the consciousness of society with the help of popular images - emblems and logos of goods, images of celebrities: actors, singers, TV presenters.

Pop artists first showed off their talent at the 1956 "This is Tomorrow" exhibition in Hollywood. The paintings featured Hollywood movie stars in movie stills with magnification. The exhibition attracted a large number of visitors and aroused a clear interest among many graduates of the art school who decided to join this movement.

Pop art was recognized as the art of social equality due to the fact that this trend aestheticized consumer goods: packaging for cookies and chocolates, cans of popular carbonated drinks - in a word, items that all people use, regardless of financial status and social class .

Painters

The most famous masters of pop art:

- American artist, sculptor and public figure, author of famous cartoons. From childhood he was fond of comics, the influence of this hobby affected further work artist. Fame came to Haring after the appearance of his paintings on the walls of the New York subway in the early 80s.

- British artist, one of the founders of pop art, as well as one of the best craftsmen of this style.

- American artist, one of the key figures in the pop art style, the author of a large number of avant-garde works depicting the US flag.

- American artist, famous for his work in the style of pop art, author of comics. Roy created his first works using pictures from cartoons and comics, while he used technology from industrial printing.

- American artist, one of the most famous representatives of the pop art style, the author of a large number of paintings depicting sweets and toys.

Andy Warhole(Andy Warhol) American artist, Rusyn origin. One of the most famous masters in the history of pop art and contemporary art. Like many young artists, he started his career with window dressing. One of his first jobs was illustrating magazines. His drawings were distinguished by eccentricity and extreme unusual execution.

Inherent features of pop art style

Pop art is based on the image of a popular symbol: a portrait of a movie or stage star, an emblem or logo of a well-known treat or drink. Pop art is characterized by collage-style technique, photo printing, alternation of different textures, bright colors, as well as inscriptions in the form of a motto or slogan, thanks to which the picture almost does not differ from an advertising poster.

Criticism and the meaning of style in art

Despite the interest of society and a large number of adherents, there were art critics who criticized pop art. The famous art critic Hilton Kramer considered pop art to be too primitive, instilling vulgarity and bad taste in society. According to the critic, pop art is nothing more than an ordinary advertisement, which was mistakenly called an artistic direction.

His opinion was joined by critic S. Kunitsa, who expressed concern that pop art would lead to the formation of a conformist, soulless society that was not interested in anything other than the daily consumption of goods and services.

The representatives of pop art themselves explained the essence of their direction by the fact that they wanted to return to reality, which was absent in the works of abstract artists, and connect their art with what is close and understandable to everyone. modern man: cinema, advertising, television, goods industry.

Over time, the work of pop art artists has had an impact on clothing and interior design: some of the work was used by famous designers as a print for clothing and interior decoration.

In one of their refrigerator airbrush works, our artists used the pop art style to bring to life the original and creative ideas of the customers.

Pop art style originated in the USA and Western Europe in the middle of the last century. Its history spans almost 70 years. Initially, he developed rapidly only in painting, then gradually moved to photography, sculpture, clothing and interior design. The name is an abbreviated form of the phrase "popular art", which literally translates as "popular art". The style draws inspiration from consumer products. The direction arose as the opposite of expressionism, which was living out its last days. The well-known creators of the fading genre (Pollock, Candide) were replaced by new talents, among which Andy Warhol stood out as a bright star in the sky of art. An artist, designer and photographer - he created a separate, independent branch of the direction. It was called commercial pop art. Perhaps the most famous creation of the master was a diptych painting with the face of a Hollywood star - Marilyn Monroe. Warhol superimposed more than fifty images of the actress, made in different colors, using the technique of silk-screen printing. The broad masses liked the manner of execution of the work so much that such stylized paintings and photographs adorn the premises to this day. The main purpose of pop art is to surprise and sometimes shock the public. First, the direction leaked into the interior solutions of cafes and trendy restaurants, and only then - into living quarters. Let's find out what are distinctive features style, and how to find the line between pop art and bad taste.

Style Features

Pop art refers to provocative and defiant trends. Its development became a prerequisite for the insanely bright and flashy fashion of the 70s and 80s. If you find yourself in a room decorated according to the canons of the direction, you will not confuse it with anything else. Among the main distinctive features allocate:

  • Using a combination of white wall decoration with "acid" colors in the interior;
  • An abundance of posters and stylized photographs. They depict scenes from comics, celebrity faces in Warhol's technique and household items (consumer and food products): soda cans, bottles, chocolate bars, cars, music records. The paintings are often repeated in different colors;
  • In finishing, preference is given to plastic, synthetics and artificial materials. Pop art does not accept luxury and chic;
  • The ceiling and floor are decorated in neutral colors, as accents are placed in the setting;
  • Much attention in pop art is given to small decor: souvenirs, figurines, photographs;
  • The main principle of choosing furniture is its practicality. Non-standard futuristic lines and shapes are welcome.

The above features have some resemblance to retro 80s. In fact, the peak of the development of style fell on this period.

Materials and finishes

The apartment uses artificial materials for the walls, ceiling and floor. Emphasis will be placed on the filling of the room. For this reason, pop art is considered one of the more budget-friendly styles. At a minimum cost, homeowners can get an original and fashionable interior.

Walls

The coating must be chosen in white. This option is considered the best backdrop for bright colors in furniture and decor. Walls are decorated in several ways:

  • Glue wallpaper. Choose the simplest types: paper, non-woven or more modern vinyl. Naturally, it is necessary to take into account the features of the room. In the kitchen or in the bathroom, materials are used that are resistant to high humidity and temperature extremes. Embossed texture is not welcome. The simpler, the more consistent with the style. Use of glossy surfaces is acceptable;
  • Drywall. Panels made of this material are quickly mounted and easily hide a layer of insulation or flaws in the surface of the walls;
  • Decorative plaster. The most practical version of it is used: white, non-embossed coating;
  • PVC panels. The material is sensitive to mechanical damage, but it is easy to clean, and the damaged area can always be replaced. Pop art loves plastic, so the latter will fit organically into the interior picture;
  • Dye. A somewhat outdated option that is not suitable for walls with noticeable defects. Differs in low cost.

Doesn't look like pop art at all. decorative tiles. An exception can only be made for kitchen apron and in the bathroom.

Floor

Laminate or parquet flooring is rarely used. Often preference is given to plain linoleum, which does not require special costs, but will fit into the style of the room. A more expensive option is a self-leveling floor. It is durable, no seams and glossy. The effect of the "varnished" coating is used not only in the decoration, but also on furniture surfaces. Permissible use additional features material: drawing bright pictures or single characters in a separate area. For example, in the corner the cat Tom may look suspiciously at the guests, and Jerry will hide from him on the wall. This is just one of the design options, which is "customized" for themselves and their preferences.

Ceiling

The ceiling is primed and a layer of plaster is applied on top. The easiest and cheapest option. In more expensive interiors, plasterboard is used, but “steps” made of this material are not welcome. As an exception, a multi-level ceiling can only be used for additional zoning in combined rooms. Suspended or tension options also harmoniously merge into the stylistic picture, but there should not be any patterns and ornaments on them. It's better to leave ceiling covering white, since its main task is to set off and balance the "motley" decor of the room.

Color solutions

The "box" of the room, as a rule, is finished in light colors. This is a tribute to the first design experiments that were carried out at the dawn of the formation of the style. Now indoors allow the use of white ceiling finishes and walls with black or red flooring. The game of contrasts is one of the "pillars" of the direction. The following shades are actively used in furniture and decor:

  • Screaming red;
  • Intense fuchsia;
  • acid green;
  • Juicy yellow;
  • Deep blue or sky blue.

Pop art is classified as a rebellious movement. If the directions had a “psychological age”, then this style would be portrayed as a young man at puberty on the wave of maximalism. For this reason, color combinations can be the most unexpected. In any other direction, they would be considered bad taste, and in pop art, such combinations are considered an organic expression of non-standard thinking.

Furniture

In this style, preference is given to non-standard forms and inexpensive materials. From textiles choose synthetics, artificial leather, polyester. Sofas in the form of lips painted with red lipstick, or soft corners "hollow" inside - an accent element of the decor. If the chairs, then only made of plastic with bright pictures on the surfaces. Sofas-benches assembled from round “pieces” upholstered in artificial leather look harmonious. They are interconnected by thin metal rods, which, intertwined, create intricate pattern. If you choose a chair, then give preference to a designer "throne" with carved armrests on twisted legs, but colorful upholstery with geometric patterns. Instead of a coffee table, get original item: Simulates the front of a car with a bumper and a glass top. Used cabinets and chests of drawers with striped prints on the surfaces. Round pouffes look spectacular, covered with textiles of “cosmic” colors: silver, gold, bronze.

Do not forget that furniture is used only necessary minimum. In this case, pop art is similar to minimalism: only practicality and simplicity. Due to the large number of accents, the room may seem "cluttered", so follow the measure.

Details and decor

In interior decor, simple things are used that take on a new life. Such elements can be purchased from venerable designers or made no worse with your own hands. From used cans or empty bottles decorate vases. The surface of the container does not need to be cleaned of labels, on the contrary, their presence will correspond to the style. Even without the talent of an artist or designer, you can create a unique poster. Take old newspapers, cut out headlines or whole articles from them and paste these pieces on a piece of cardboard in a chaotic manner. Then the canvas is decorated with a frame and hung on the wall. Tape over a tall hallway mirror with comic book clippings and wrap with a garland of light bulbs-balls. If you still have old records for the gramophone, then you can do with them in several ways:

  • Warm them up in the oven. Put on gloves to protect your hands, and fold the pliable edges to one side, creating a wavy edging. The finished element can be used as a flower pot or souvenir stand. Additionally, it is painted with acrylic or tempera;
  • Pass the twine through the holes in the membranes, tie it in a knot over the edge of each plate so that they are held vertically. Make several of these "garlands" that will decorate part of the wall.

To sew soft cushions for sofas and beds, you only need foam padding and synthetic fabrics in bright colors. In addition to traditional square shapes, sew round, triangular and curly (hearts or bitten apples) decorative elements. Upholstery on hard chairs can be replaced with balls of multi-colored thread fastened together. To match the same coating decorate the armrests of the sofa and coffee tables. A large number of slider stickers are applied to any surface.

In pop art, trivial, everyday things can become stylish element design. Don't be afraid to experiment. Wall paintings will "survive" any incarnation. It can be favorite cartoon characters, themed photos of apartment owners, or comic book dialogue in the typical round frames that they are depicted in graphic novels.

Lighting

Lighting is created at three levels according to a standard pattern:

  • Ceiling;
  • Optional;
  • Directed (local).

Forget the typical chandeliers. The ceiling is decorated with original shades:

  • Chandeliers with a bright matte finish, imitating antique candlesticks with light bulbs;
  • Round shades, collected in one grape "bunch";
  • Imitation of balloons filled with helium that flew up to the ceiling. In addition to them, "threads" are attached from below;
  • Flat round chandeliers, as if assembled from several "layers" of circles different sizes, one of which exudes light;
  • Complex compositions of plafonds, which are interconnected by rods in the manner of molecules.

These are just a few of the hundreds of possibilities. To purchase an original ceiling, it is better to turn to designer collections. Additional lighting is provided by wall sconces and table lamps not inferior in originality ceiling chandeliers. Point light sources are replaced with garlands of white light bulbs; you should not hide the wires, as they will add a special touch to the interior.

Room decoration in the style of pop art

In the pop art style, the rooms should look non-standard, primitive and flashy-bright. The style brought with it the theme of “challenge” to society from art. The philosophy of freedom must be played differently in every room. As a rule, the design of the premises is not repeated, but only has similar features. For inspiration, check out the pages of your favorite graphic novels or pop art fashion galleries.

Kitchen

For the kitchen choose a bright set with effect lacquered finish. One of the walls can be decorated with photo wallpaper with a graphic pattern or an image of a stylish accent (red lips, eyes with blue shadows on the eyelids, Coca-Cola cans, bars or packages of famous candies) on a white background with the same bright circles. Around a glossy bar or dining table put plastic chairs of unusual shapes. Particular attention is paid to the apron; a drawing or a picture from comics is also applied to it. Flat chandeliers are mounted on the ceiling, which are combined with geometric plafonds hanging on long, thin "legs". Groups of the latest appliances are placed directly above the accent area - the dining table.
