I wanted to make simple souvenirs as a gift. But I had nothing: no blanks, no suitable napkins, no opportunity to make printouts... I had to improvise, and Alisa Luchinskaya’s advice to use CDs came in handy.
So, first of all, we need disks and postcards. Finding suitable ones also turned out to be not so easy))) Most were made based on photos, but I didn’t find the drawn ones right away. Let's get started)
1. Materials:
CDs (it is better to take those with one side completely smooth, without grooves)

2. Sand the disc on both sides and prime it with one layer of white paint using a sponge.
3. Cut out circles from cardboard to mask the hole in the disk.
4. On the side where there are more irregularities, glue a larger circle. Since this is the reverse side of the magnet, it is not necessary to get rid of the irregularities. And we will paint over the circle and then cover it with a magnet.
5. Glue smaller circles on the front side. How much depends on the thickness of the cardboard.
If there are cracks left and there is a groove around the hole, you can cover everything with putty.
6. Paint it again with white paint, dry it, and sand it.
7. Now let's do the postcard. We soak it in water for not long at all, literally a few seconds, so that it gets wet all over. If you leave it too long, the paint will start to crack and peel off. At least that's what happened with one of the ones I bought.
8. Then very carefully layer the card. Again, if it is too wet, it will tear; if it is not completely wet, then the top layer will come off unevenly, and there will be flaps from the bottom layer of paper.
9. Since the image was printed on both sides, I received two pictures.
10. Cover the image with a layer of acrylic varnish to preserve the image. Let's dry it.
11. Glue the image onto the disk with PVA glue, carefully smoothing it out and pushing out any bubbles. Dry. Sand off excess from the edges.
12. We do the painting.
13. Cover both sides with varnish and dry.
14. To decorate the edges, you can use whatever your imagination tells you) I had a thin white cord on hand. Glue it along the edge using transparent glue.
15. Glue a magnet from the inside out. You can use a magnetic plate, or you can use small plastic magnets.
