How to repair plastic skis?

A broken ski is a huge problem for continuing a ski trip. However, there is always a way out, although field conditions are not the most comfortable for such repairs. Nevertheless, almost any skier with many years of “hiking” experience has such experience. Wooden skis are rarely used now, because they are the easiest to break. Breaks of ski socks occur more often than other fractures, in particular in half. Some skiers pre-reinforce their socks. Their skis are equipped with several layers of fiberglass that are glued to epoxy. Some people prefer self-production metal socks. A broken ski is “decorated” with this pre-prepared attribute. In other cases, they manage by applying a splint. Ideally, plywood is used (not too large a piece). It can be replaced with two small branches. The structure is reinforced from below with a tin strip. Everything is secured with tape.
