The last owners of the sinister mansion in Amityville, famous for its terrible past, do not doubt that there are ghosts in reality. From the beginning of its construction, not a single family could stay in a three-story house for a long time. Everyone complained about extraneous sounds, whispering voices, oppressive atmosphere.
In 1965, the De Fero family moved into the mansion - father, mother and five children. The family lived in the house for 9 years, after which the irreparable happened. An unknown person called the police, reporting that he saw flashes in the house, similar to those that appear from shots. The patrol immediately arrived at the scene, and a terrible picture appeared before them - all family members, except for the youngest son, were brutally killed. During the investigation, it was possible to establish that the youngest son, Ronald, committed the massacre of the family. The boy said that a mysterious voice made him commit the crime. 
After this event, more than one horror film was shot about the mansion, and lovers of paranormal phenomena tried to settle and live in it. One of the last residents of the house took a photo in which you can clearly see the boy - the ghost of Amityville. The family has no children and, according to them, they were alone in the house that evening.
In the town of Oak Goreve, which is located in the state of Kentucky, there is a long-standing legend that tells that a local soldier, suspecting his wife of treason, could not forgive the betrayal and threw the unfaithful from the bridge. In addition to the physical shell, a person has mental and astral projections. When a person dies, the energy body separates from the physical body. For three days, the invisible part of the subtle body dwells near its decaying flesh. After three days, the etheric body is detached from the physical shell. This is the ghost of the deceased person. And only no more than 3–5% of such visions are connected with the unknown sphere of contacts between living people and representatives.

British physician W.-D. Reese found that 47% of widows in Wales interviewed had witnessed apparitions—often multiple times, over many years—that convinced them that their deceased husbands were interacting with them. The phenomenon of a ghost is often accompanied by tangible physical processes, such as movement or breaking of objects, certain sounds, for example, the sounds of footsteps, which were recorded on tape. According to observations, ghosts have a shadow, they can be reflected in a mirror, some ghosts knocked over furniture, left smells, asked for help, in other words, they demonstrated all the qualities of a real being.
At times, ghosts even leave samples of their handwriting behind. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a talented physician who was one of the first to study death and the process of dying, reported that her former patient came to her at the moment when she was about to quit her job.
Mrs. Schwartz (the name of this woman) entered the elevator with Kübler-Ross and escorted her to the office, where she asked her not to quit her work on the study of death and the process of dying. Dr. Kübler-Ross thought she was hallucinating because her patient died 10 months ago. However, when the doctor offered Mrs. Schwartz to sign on a piece of paper, she complied with this request, and then disappeared without a trace.
Ghosts can be seen by multiple people at once
Many of the reported occurrences of ghosts have been noted by several people at once. For example, in a case investigated by the SPR (Society for Psychical Research), 9 residents of a house in Ramsbury, England, observed together and separately for several months the bringing of a person who died almost a year ago. He was invariably at the bedside of his dying widow, his hand resting on her forehead. The ghost could be seen every time for half an hour.
Professor Hornel Hart, in The Mystery of the Continuation of Life, says that between one and two-thirds of all ghosts have been seen by more than one person, and each eyewitness saw them in his own way, according to the angle of view.
Transfer of information unknown to the observer
On numerous occasions, a ghost that has appeared conveys to the observer information about how he died, about the place of burial, or other unknown information. In one widely publicized case, confirmed in an American court (the so-called Cheffin Will case), a late father spoke to one of his sons and told him the details of how to find his will.
In some cases, ghosts appear, apparently to save their loved ones from danger. Such was the case with Elaine Worrell, who lived with her husband Hod on the top floor of an apartment building in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Once she found an unfamiliar man in the hallway of her apartment, who asked her to urgently go down the floor below, to the apartment of a neighbor. Elaine found a woman lying on the bed there - her wrists had been cut. The woman was rescued. Later, she showed Elaine Worrell a photograph of her dead husband, who, with amazement, recognized him as the same stranger who had brought her to her widow's apartment.
Ghosts Appearing at the Time of Death
There are many cases when the ghost of a recently deceased person appears in front of one or more loved ones to inform them of his death. In many of these cases, death was unexpected, and it was subsequently confirmed that death occurred just before the apparition of the ghost.
Here are some of the examples recorded and confirmed by various researchers.
The case of Second Lieutenant Leslie Poynter, who was killed in action. At nine o'clock in the evening, at the moment of his death, Leslie Pointer suddenly appeared in his sister's bedroom, bent over her, kissed her and then, smiling happily, just as suddenly disappeared. It was not until two weeks later that the Pointer family received notice of his death, which occurred on the very same day and at the very same time.
The case of Mrs. Packet, whose brother, Edmund, suddenly appeared before her 6 hours after drowning in the sea, with a story about how his legs were tied with a rope and thrown overboard.
The case of Mrs. Gladys Watson, who was in a deep sleep and was awakened by someone calling her by name. Waking up, she saw her grandfather by the bed, who told her: “Do not be afraid. It's me. I just died." When the woman woke up her husband, he, of course, did not believe her and called his grandfather on the phone. On the other end of the wire, he was told that he had died suddenly just a few minutes ago.
"Posthumous Agreements"
According to Bennett, in 1 in 20 of the cases documented in the OPI archive, "post-mortem agreements" are made, in which two people promise each other that the one who dies first will try to come to the other.
As evidenced by the facts, most of these agreements actually turned out to be fulfilled.
One day Lord Brogham, Peer of England, was traveling in Sweden. One day, his university friend (more precisely, his ghost), whom he had not seen and did not remember for many years, unexpectedly appeared before the lord. Over time, the lord received a letter saying that his friend had died in India, and the date of his death coincided with the moment the ghost appeared. While still at university, they often discussed the issue of life after death and even made a blood-sealed agreement that the one who dies first will come to the other.
Mrs. Bellamy of Bristol made this arrangement with a school friend whom she had not seen for many years. On the night of his girlfriend's death, Mr. Bellamy saw the ghost of an unfamiliar woman in the bedroom. His wife was asleep at that moment. In the morning, he no doubt identified his wife's friend from a school photo.
The appearance of ghosts is caused in the laboratory
Moody reverse-engineered the process, and the results were astonishing: 85% of his clients, who train all day long, actually make contact with a deceased loved one—but not necessarily with the person they wanted. Most of this happens in a purpose-built psychomantheum, but in 25% of cases later it happens in the contactees' own homes - often the person wakes up and observes a ghost a meter from the bed.
The psychomanteum phenomenon is still in the early stages of research, but is steadily spreading in America. People undergo special training to learn how to use the psychomanteum. One of the most curious aspects of this phenomenon is the ability to continue research and get results. According to Diana Arcangel, Dr. Moody's colleague, in some cases, when contact is made, the person seeking contact receives information that was previously unknown to him. The research potential is huge, and this process is steadily improving.
All Moody's clients insist that this contact is not a hallucination, there is a clear two-way communication, and in some cases even physical contact. This is how Moody expresses his amazement.
It became clear that the encounters with ghosts were perceived as real events, not fantasies or dreams. To date, almost all subjects claim that their encounters were completely real and that they felt the living presence of deceased loved ones.
Moody also noted that by all indications, people experience a paranormal state that, like NDE, changes their worldview and encourages them to become "more kind, more understanding and less afraid of death."
