Thinking through interior design is a very exciting activity, and even useful. There are so many nuances to take into account: decide on the style of the future interior, choose finishing materials, figure out how they will fit together, solve the problem of placing everything you need in a limited area, and so on.
The interior of the bathroom can be made in various styles: from hi-tech to classics, from avant-garde to Provence. Another thing is that most of us live in ordinary typical apartments, where bathrooms are not very large, so the design possibilities and the implementation of the characteristic features of some style solutions are somewhat limited. The design of a bathroom in such small areas should be concise, and the main task of the designer is to think over options for the most convenient and aesthetic placement of plumbing and furniture.

It takes up little space, but washing powder, cleaning products, shampoos, gels, toothbrushes and all kinds of other accessories will no longer gather dust on open shelves and surfaces, and this will help to always visually keep the bathroom in order. |

A catastrophic problem in a small room for many housewives is determining where to store dirty laundry. Often, finding no other way out, the laundry is immediately placed in the drum of the washing machine and thus accumulated. However, this will not affect the linen in the best way: in a damp washing machine drum, things can not only acquire an unpleasant smell, but even become damp and moldy. It is much more practical to have a laundry basket or bag. Get a narrow but tall model. Some dream of a corner bath. It is a mistake to think that it will help save space, even if you purchase small models and install in place of the old bath. Think a hundred times, because the narrow space formed between the bathroom and the wall is unlikely to be used in any way. But due to the width, the bath will “eat” really useful centimeters. Layouts
Typical layouts of bathrooms do not differ in variety. In shared bathrooms, a toilet, washbasin, and bathtub line up along a long wall, with the toilet closer to the riser. In separate bathrooms, the bathroom is even smaller, since the toilet bowl is moved to a separate room. Creating an interesting interior design in such cases is extremely difficult. Exit - redevelopment. When combining a separate bathroom, some useful space will appear due to the possibility of using side walls, for example, if you lay the door of the former toilet. A washing machine can be installed next to or opposite the toilet.

If the bathroom is combined, then it can be expanded by attaching a corridor or storage room, if one is located through the wall. In these cases, the design possibilities increase significantly, however, you will have to work on waterproofing.
If you act on the basis of the initial data, then there are few options, mainly replacing the bathtub with a shower cabin, due to which additional space is freed up and you can play a little with the placement of plumbing and furniture. But at the same time, it must be remembered that the removal from the riser, for example, the toilet bowl, can have the most undesirable effect on the sewer. So, the toilet bowl is not recommended to be removed from the riser at a distance of more than 1.5 m, while the sewer pipe should not be bent at a right angle, the necessary pipe slope must be maintained. Relatively painlessly, you can move the sink to the opposite wall and place a washing machine under it. For example, like this:
By the way, by attaching the area of the pantry to the bathroom of a separate bathroom, you can install a second toilet in it. The first one will remain in its original place. Enhance this space with a miniature sink.

In the design of the bathroom, especially if it is small, it is worth using the following design techniques:
- Avoid large tiles. Tiles are traditionally used for cladding the walls and floor of the bathroom. But in small bathrooms, large squares, and even with a pattern, will look clumsy. Choose medium-sized tiles with a glossy surface, such as glass mosaics. Mosaic panels look great. One of the walls, for example, adjacent to the bath, can be finished with mosaics, and the others with slightly larger tiles of a different color, for example, 5 × 5 cm.
- A large mirror in the bathroom will not hurt, regardless of the size of the room.
- Arrange shallow drywall niches in the bathroom. They will play the role of shelves perfectly. Even better if you mount a backlight in them.
- As for lighting, it should be varied. Do not limit yourself to three spotlights on the ceiling. Place wall lights next to the mirror. Illuminate the shelves with LED strip - the color of the lighting can be changed. If desired, you can even arrange a backlight built into the floor.
- As the main colors for the bathroom, choose light and pastel shades. You can make minor bright color accents.
- To save space, a sliding door or an accordion door is sometimes installed. However, keep in mind that without additional modifications, such doors will not be able to provide the proper level of room insulation.
- And another feature - lockers on the doorway. This space is rarely used - and in vain. Here you can organize a convenient place for storage.
